Term Tooltips Test
Test page for the term tooltips wired up by 12-activate-tooltips.js. The docs macros do not run in the UI preview, so the markup below replicates what the glossterm, enterprise, and badge macros emit.
What to expect
- On a desktop browser

Hover a term to see its tooltip. Glossary tooltips end with a View in glossary link; enterprise tooltips end with Learn more. Clicking the term still follows its link, as before.
- On a touch device (or DevTools device emulation with touch enabled)

Tap a term. The tooltip opens and the page does not navigate. Tap anywhere off the tooltip to close it: tapping the term again reopens it rather than closing it. The only way through to the glossary or licensing page is the link inside the tooltip. This used to need a long press, and a plain tap navigated before the definition could be read.
- On a touch-capable laptop

Whichever input you are actually using wins, and you can switch at any time without reloading. Move the mouse and terms hover and their links follow on click, exactly as on a desktop. Tap the screen and the next tap opens a tooltip instead of navigating.
Glossary terms
A topic is divided into partitions, and each partition is replicated across brokers.
Definitions can carry inline code, which the glossary macro emits as <code>: use rolling upgrades on production clusters.
Terms whose glossary link opens in a new tab keep that behaviour on the tooltip link too: Tiered Storage.
Enterprise terms
The enterprise macro wraps a link to the licensing or feature page, so the tooltip gets a Learn more link:
Enable Tiered Storage to offload data to object storage.

Tooltips with nothing to link to
Elements that carry a tooltip but no link get no footer link, and a tap on them is not intercepted (there is nothing to intercept):
